"Darcy White is between jobs and is about to lose everything she has. She reads the help-wanted ads every morning. Day after day, she fails at finding anything—that is, until one morning when she comes across an ad she finds intriguing. The help-wanted ad in the paper states that a man is looking for a wife. Before she knows what she’s doing, Darcy’s exchanging emails with him, agreeing to meet him for lunch.

Steven McDonald is looking for a wife in order to keep his family business, an apple orchard, as his grandfather told him that he couldn’t keep this orchard unless he got married. He gets the crazy idea to put a want ad in the paper. After a lot of nutty women respond, one e-mail comes through with a name that sounds very familiar: Darcy White. He was in love with Darcy in high school, but was too afraid to step away from the popular crowd to talk to her. He spent countless nights just thinking about her. Could this be his second chance?

From the moment they enter each other’s lives again, the chemistry is there. Steven believes that Darcy is even better than he remembered her. This is Darcy’s dream come true; she hopes that Steven might start to feel the same way about her as she feels for him." ~Blurb

I really liked this short novella on two high school kids grown up, connecting through Steven's wanted ad for a wife - learning they both had feelings for each other during school but neither did anything about the attraction. But now that they are making a business deal of personal sort, all sorts of personal feeling come to the surface, and they are more than happy to act on them.

Short, sexy, happy story of the just right kind of a coincident, or fate, bringing together two always wanted to be lovers. This is the kind of story you could see happening, but instead of a wife ad maybe it's a personals ad. ;) Really enjoyed Wanted: Wife!

You'll like this if... you like fate stepping in and bringing together two people who use to have feelings for each other, and now kindle them to full blown romance!

Character guest post: Darcy White

from Wanted: Wife

In high school I was that shy girl who always kept to herself. I had one friend, Julie Brown. And we spent countless hours together talking about all the popular girls and boys and sharing our deepest fantasies.
I always had a crush on a boy named Steven McDonald. Every time I saw him I just wanted to touch him or at least have him talk to me. I think in the four years of high school, we only talked a few times.

Well, you grow-up and life starts after high school. Steven became just someone from my past. Life is hard enough. Believe me, I was job less and searching the help wanted life crazy. And yes I was so desperate that I actually answered a classified ad for someone in search of a wife. Hey, don’t judge.

Now here comes the best part, imagine my surprise when I show up and the man looking for a wife is Steven McDonald. That’s right, THE Steven Mcdonald. The even bigger shocker was he liked me too, ever since high school.

So then our story begins, and yes it’s a cheesy one. But it’s a good one. Looking back now, the best thing I ever did was to answer that crazy ad.
